    I just want meets - I usually don't run my best till around the 6th meet and that was with running pre and finals in every meet. We have so many D1 schools in the area finals are usually little tougher to make at times.

    Agreed. I need back to back meets. Our problem is schools not allowing any one but colleges to run....and a select few open athletes. UM was known for 3 meets each year....now they wont let knowbody run. Its a few schools that just stopped letting us run.

    I know AAU is now allowing Masters to run. So look into those meets also

    After 5yrs+ off from sprint training and haven't competed since the summer 2010, I didn't think it was gonna be this hard to make a comeback but this shit is rough!!! The goal was to always to give it my best effort and train hard/smart for about 6 months. I'm timing all runs so there won't be any surprises - at the end of 6 months I'll see where I stand. If things are going well - I'll race this winter otherwise I train (weights) over the winter and try again next spring.

    Sooner or later your gonna have to jump into that fire. start off with some confidence building races and go from there. Nothing like comp to bring the best out. But yea 5 years is a looooong time, but the muscles should memba.

    Nope. My body and times gotta be straight otherwise it's not worth the time and resources every saturday. I'm not that far away - hopefully I can get a nice drop this block. When is your next race?

    Was gonna drive up to orlando saturday, but my boy went to a meet they had today.....said 5 people showed up. Also said the times were jacked up. He has run 9.9 twice some years back...last race was 10.3 ran 10.67 and 21.7 today

    Decided to call it a season. Only meets left are hours away, and there is little chance of any real comp. Plus one meet a month is a waste.
    Starting a strength phase for the next 6 months.
    Aug-sept- heavy weights and tempo
    sept oct- heavy weights tempo and some kind of speed
    oct-nov heavy weights, longer tempo and a speed session
    nov-jan- heavy weights and sled work and long tempo

    Probably will make adjustments.....speed will be accel work
