    Re: RB34 Training Journal

It has been a long time since checking in!!!! Early January my legs finally gave out and I was getting tired of training and racing with injuries I been dealing with since spring 2018. I decided to step away from the track and get healthy - to allow my true ability to show. In January I took 8 weeks and did nothing but upper body weights and treated all the lower body injuries I was dealing with. The next 8 weeks I introduced tempo and various bodyweight movements. The fifth month I continued the tempo and bodyweight movements but added jump circuits and mb throws. The sixth and final month I put everything back into the program, tempo, jumps, throws, and short hills (10-20m). So far, this is the healthiest I been since 2011ish but still have a little ways to go. I am also the lightest I have been since soph year of high school - my weight has gone from 193-195 to 168lbs. So far, I have achieved all the goals I needed to work on over these 6 months (health, fitness, body comp) …. Gpp is starting early July. DAMN!!!!!

    Week 1:
    Monday:
    Warmup S
    Hills: 3x4x20m wb/3:30
    Jumps uphill 9x3
    MB: x10 (height, ohb, blf)
    Russian lean 3x5
    Pushups 5x25
    Abs 3x5

This week I'm doing 540m of hill work, 131 jumps, and 90 throws. I'll probably add weights back into the program next month.

    Will be following along.
First takes: you've got a strong bench and some serious cajones when it comes to betting.

Haven't squatted since Jan and haven't benched since March while losing some serious weight = GIRL STRENGTH LEVELS. While rehabbing my lower body injuries I was bench pressing 4x a week while adding over 30lbs to my bench in 8 weeks.

    Mon: 4x3x85

    Tues: 3x2x90

    Wed: 1x1x100, 3-4x1x95

    Fri: 4-5x1x80 (tech/recovery work)

If you get all reps - feel free to add 5lbs the following week.

    Wednesday:
    Warmup Jr
    Skip/Bound circuit 2x5 each leg
    MB: x10 (height, ohb, blf)
    Pullups 3x6
    Pushups/Abs 4x25

Nice short power session, exactly what I wanted from this session. I could tell I have not done skips/bounds in a long time because I did not feel very coordinated, timing and rhythm was off. I am wrapping up month 6 of rehab and I am still not 100% healthy but feel without any major setbacks I should be able to continue training and recovering and hopefully over time things will heal up to 100%. Train - recover - repeat = 100% health over time.

Can you explain the Med ball work? Does x10 mean 10 total reps?
What are the acronyms? I thought height and ohb would both be an overhead toss. Can't figure out blf.

10 reps each throw = 30 total throws. The volume will decrease (10-8-6) through the block causing the intensity to go up. Ohb = overhead back, blf = between leg forward, height = toss up for vertical height.
