University of Texas....... not one player drafted....lulz!

Texas, full of ballers, not one from the the flagship drafted this year. I am somewhat sad, because if there was a team I could pull for outside of the Tide and the SEC (excluding Auburn), it would be UT.

Can Charlie pull a Jimbo and turn UT into an SECesque team ala the Tribe?

1: First of all you need to look at how many players Texas had in this draft. I think they only had 2 legit players in this draft and both were signed right after the draft.

2: Mack Brown put too much trust in Mad Dog and the players were not being develop. Even when Ut had true 5star players they wasn't being develop and always tested like shit at the combine.

3: I think things will get better but I'm not sure how much better.

4: This program has been lacking structure and discipline and Coach Strong will bring both.

Raiders signed Texas WR Mike Davis.
Davis (6-foot, 197) was a 38-game starter for the 'Horns, finishing his career with 200 catches for 2,753 yards (13.8 YPR) and 18 touchdowns. Primarily a vertical receiver in college, Davis has plus speed (4.48) but average all-around athleticism (32 1/2" vertical, 9'9" broad jump), and has a tendency to fight the football rather than catch it cleanly with his hands. There were also whispers of work ethic concerns at UT. Davis projects as a situational field stretcher at the next level.

Seahawks signed Texas DE Jackson Jeffcoat.
Jeffcoat (6-foot-3 1/8, 247) was a 33-game starter for the Longhorns, closing out his All-American senior year as the Big 12 DPOY and Ted Hendricks Award winner, given to college football's top defensive end. He racked up 27.5 career sacks, 60 tackles for loss (second most in school history) and three forced fumbles. At February's Combine, Jeffcoat ran 4.63 with an impressive 10-foot-3 broad jump and 36-inch vertical.

*** You also have to remember this was the deepest draft ever - many guys who didn't get drafted this year would have gotten drafted in the past. The media always try to make a big deal out of small things. How many years did Norte dame go without having a player drafted and now they had 8 this year.

Still don't understand how Mike Sams got drafted over Jeffcoat. Damn, I'm sick of seeing him kiss his boyfriend on tv.

Yea that shit was over the top. I have no problem with him being gay, but now it seems like he trying to turn it into a reality show. Like he wanting to stir up contraversy. I hope he sucks and becomes a statistic.....nfl aka not for long.

(well we all know he sucks).......lol

Totally, overblown. They didn't show AJ all up on Katherine Webb repeatedly once his name was called.

I will give Sam props for coming out because I would rather know I'm playing with someone gay then not to know. Trust me, there are tons of gay football players in these locker rooms. I have always said I would rather know up front that someone don't like blacks folks then not to know. That's the biggest difference from southern whites and northern whites.

I don't support that behavior nor do I support Espn showing that nonsense.

I'm still shocked that the cowboys didn't take Jackson, his dad played for the team and I really think this kid will be very good.

    Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Seattle Seahawks
Analysis: If you hadn't heard it already, a Texas player failed to get drafted for the first time since 1937. Of all the Longhorns eligible, Jeffcoat's name was the most likely to get called after he had a terrific senior season in which he was named Big 12 co-Defensive Player of the Year. Injuries took a heavy toll on his stock, but he's got the size, speed and instincts to be a contributor for the Seahawks' front seven. Pete Carroll once recruited Jeffcoat heavily and finally gets him as a free agent.

    Another good prospect:
    Isaiah Crowell, RB, Cleveland Browns
Analysis: It wasn't a huge shock to see Crowell go undrafted, considering the off-the-field concerns teams had, but one can't deny he's a talented back. A former SEC freshman of the year at Georgia, he's proved to be a strong runner who can take it the distance. He's not as adept as others at catching the ball out of the backfield, but he's a nice overall player who could stick as a backup behind Ben Tate.
