    Re: Meet selection dilemma

What's later on in the schedule? When is the next meet after that weekend? Are you just trying to get good times or elicit a certain stimulus? The elite meet will usually produce a higher stimulus...

    Re: Killer coaches (highschool idots)

Sorry to hear that man. I don't know why there is so much ego in high school track. I bailed on a bad head coach/worse assistants two seasons ago. If you can find the right school and/or head coach...

Looks like Bolt, De Grasse, then a tossup for third? Anybody left in the field could get that third spot.

Yep. He was handed a gift with the slowest heat and blew it. If he blasts a 9.8x in the semis he might as well hand Bolt and Blake the medals.

    De Grasse Road To Rio

Woven throughout the story there's a little bit of insight into his training and racing this past year.

    Re: 2016 races

Bolt and Powell are opposites when it comes to pressure, Powell tightens up and loses confidence while Bolt steps up and digs deep. Bolt needs the pressure and Powell can't handle it. We've seen...

    Re: Degrasse results?

I watched the episode. It didn't look like De Grasse gave it too much effort, he ran 11 something. They did make him some period appropriate spikes and he dug holes for blocks but it looked like a...

    Re: Andre DeGrasse to Altis

Good article on DeGrasse. I thought leaving USC was risky but racing that much with little therapy and rest would have been even riskier.

    Re: mindset in the blocks

Mindset? I teach my athletes to be focused on the gun, that's it. Reacting on the "b" in "bang", not waiting for the bang to finish. The cue after that would be a wrist flick/arm movement but that is...

Andre DeGrasse joins the Altis group in Phoenix (Pfaff, Stuart McMillan). An interesting development, I thought DeGrasse would continue to train with Caryl Gilbert at USC since it worked so well last...

I think in Bolt's legacy this will go down as the most important 100m of his career. While the 9.69 was the greatest (the surprise, ease, margin, etc.), this one was tremendous execution under...

    Re: 2015 races

I meant low key as in not a major championship (national, world junior/youth, etc), no TV coverage, no pro or college athletes. And with only 6 events it felt small.
