  1. Re: Pushing as long as possible vs. Getting the feet down faster.

throughout the whole 100m it's a delicate compromise between pushing right through and getting your feet off the ground. If you have the flexibility to extend the hip properly your body may...

    Re: Olympic coverage in NZ

I'm sure there are some unhappy people watching delays though John, especially since they have opened up the olympic viewing to Sky sports as well.

Anyway, I have decided to stay home this...

    Re: Olympic coverage in NZ

No John, I am in NZ, originally from the UK though. So I wouldn't get Prime to show live athletics on isky? I saw some facebook comments of the coverage and people were very unhappy.

Re: Toe drag out the blocks

Lombards Paradox is irrelevant here. This is a simple issue of the knee flexing (along with the hip) to allow ground clearance for the foot out of the blocks. Watch youtube, watch yourself..

    The...

Re: Toe drag out the blocks

when the back leg is brought forward out of the blocks, initially there has been a little knee extension as the back foot leaves the block but momentarily later the hip and the knee both flex to...

Re: Usain Bolt runs down Asafa Powell in Oslo

i've just done a quick search on that guy to the right of Bolt (Lerone Clarke) and could only find out his height at 5.10 but he does look more like low to mid 5ft. His pb is actually 9.99.

    Re: Increasing Hip Height

I noticed the greatest difference in hip height when I learned to fire my glutes properly. This allows the leg to extend properly, you will not sit and you should have alot more spring. It is of...

    Re: Johnsons 16 x 200

I believe the program was designed for a group of 43-45 sec male sprinters, although some may not have coped as well as Johnson.

    Re: Johnsons 16 x 200

    Johnsons 16 x 200

I've just read about Johnsons tempo to speed end. transition whereby he starts with 16 x 200m in 36 seconds and each session reduces the reps by 1 and knocks 1 second off the time. After 10 session...
