Would like to see you drop that 30m to 3.9's. I wish you would have done some pretesting...

I agree, But last time I ran 30 was during the season last year and it was 4.1, so Im heavy now and not in season form yet so Ill take that time right now. Better start seeing them 3.9s in the next few weeks

If the testing environment etc was similar, I think your times should be faster esp after several months of acceleration training. You should be hitting at least low 4.0x's.

Well remember, I havent touched a track since july. Ive done all my sprinting on grass or turf in cross country spikes. It definitly felt weird sprinting on that mondo track with real spikes

I really don't think that should matter - if anything you should be faster running on track etc. For example, let's say your goal was to run 10.6-10.9 this season and your pretesting results were 4.1s. If your training was sound and your goals were in range you should have seen drops in your times every month. A tenth per month for the first 2-3 months isn't uncommon.

    Re: Chris6878's journal.

There may be a period of adjustment when moving from doing all training on one surface to starting on another. Before the benefits of a track surface become apparent. This can be more apparent if the athlete has suffered from lower leg injuries in the past. Esp calves where people are nervous about overdoing the stress. I would not overstate this but expecting to run a good time on a track for your first session is optimistic.
I suggest you look at equivalent times from this point in your training from previous seasons.

You guys overthink shit too much. When i was training/competing and knew I had a chance to lay down a fast time because of the surface/weather etc I didn't need time to adjust I was ready (stop thinking). I ran on a track once a month and still improved each time. Your reason may be valid if he wasn't sprinting at all.

Think of it this way - if you are paying for services after 8-12 weeks you better be faster even if you were running on quick sand.
